Our Story

Our colonial-style house is a 100-year-old property that provides a spacious, homely and welcoming place to lay your head. It has rustic charm and character with individually decorated rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious dining room, a cozy living room with sofas, TV, board games, book exchange, instruments, and two lush gardens with outdoor furniture and hammocks; plenty of common areas where people can meet and come together or just chill.

Bryan and Valeria started Casa Seibel in 2014. Bryan travelled all over Latin America, and Val backpacked all over Guatemala several times. After travelling and gathering ideas, we had a clear vision of what a traveler needs when on the road, and we wanted our hostel to provide that and much more!

If you are at the hostel right now, you may probably not see us. Three kids are a lot of kids to have in a hostel, and we are probably out there trying to make them behave. You will find Javier and Teresa. Javier is Val’s brother, and Teresa has been working with us for seven years. It’s all in the fam!

Vision & Mission

Our vision is simple: to offer an affordable accommodation while upholding a high standard of service with world class Guatemalan hospitality.

To achieve this, we proudly take our mission into action: to provide quality rooms with a family-friendly environment at very affordable rates.

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”

— J.R.R. Tolkien
